Family Day Weekend at the Cannery
The Family Day long weekend brings the return of the Steveston Winter Farmers & Artisans Market inside the Cannery on Sunday, February 9, from 10am-3pm.
We will also be launching our ‘new & improved’ children’s activity area in the “Cannery Kid’s Corner”, where families can enjoy Cannery & fishing themed games, crafts, books, videos and a new dress-up area!

February 22-23
Heritage Afloat! at the Cannery
In celebration of Heritage Week, guided gallery tours of feature exhibit “Ryoshi: Nikkei Fishermen of the West Coast” will be offered between 11am to 3pm, during Heritage Afloat! weekend in Steveston on Feb. 22-23. Created by the Nikkei National Museum in Burnaby, the exhibit continues to April 13, 2014.

Fishing the West Coast Exhibit
Voting for our annual “Fishing the West Coast” continues to March 2 — a number of entries are on display inside the Cannery. Please drop by and place your votes. All photos can also be viewed and ‘favourited’ online at: Fishing the West Coast contest Flickr.

Spring Break at the Cannery
Our entertaining “Titanium Chef” show will return during Spring Break, presented daily at 11:30am and 2:30pm. You can also test your skills in a fun “Sustainable Scavenger Hunt” inside the Cannery. Don’t forget to pick up a Parks Canada Xplorers booklet for fun activities to do in the Cannery, with a souvenir prize when you’re done! The Xplorers activity booklet is complimentary with all Youth admissions.

Easter at the Cannery
Join the Easter Scavenger Hunt inside the Cannery museum for prizes + kids’ activities and more! Look for appearances by the Easter Salmon!

May 1 to April 2015
Feature Exhibit “Solidarity on Ships and Shore: Organizing the West Coast Fishing Industry”
Opening on May 1, the Cannery’s 2014 feature exhibit will examine the fascinating history of the men and women of the West Coast fishing industry, who fought to better the lives of the fisheries workers in the 1800s to early 1900s, and their lasting legacy today. The exhibit will illustrate their story through music, art and archival images, all in our historic Cannery setting.

Canada Day at the Cannery/ Steveston Salmon Festival

Halloween at the Cannery
